Spaced Retrieval uses carefully repeated prompts over gradually increasing periods. For some residents, it may help reinforce useful information, familiar tasks or everyday routines.
When might specialist support help?
Every situation is different, but additional support may be helpful when changes begin to affect safety, wellbeing or the family's ability to cope: increasing confusion, wandering or becoming lost, missed meals or medication, changes in personal care, isolation, safety concerns, family carer exhaustion. These signs do not automatically mean residential care is required — families should discuss the individual circumstances with appropriate healthcare professionals and the Burleigh House team.
