Our activities programme is varied and genuinely optional. Residents choose what suits them, from art and baking to live music, gardening and outings, rather than being expected to join in with everything on offer.

Signs it might be time to consider residential care
Every situation is different, but it may be worth exploring residential care when everyday tasks such as washing, dressing or medication become difficult to manage safely, when isolation or loneliness is affecting wellbeing, or when a family carer needs more support than they can realistically provide. These signs don't automatically mean a move is necessary — we'd always encourage a conversation with the Burleigh House team and, where appropriate, a GP or social worker, before any decision is made.

Residential care provides personal support with everyday living, washing, dressing, medication and meals, in a home-like setting, for people who don't require clinical nursing care. At Burleigh House, this is delivered by a consistent, familiar team in a small, family-run home.

What is the difference between residential and nursing care?
Residential care covers personal care and everyday support. Nursing care additionally includes clinical nursing support from a registered nurse for residents with more complex medical needs. Burleigh House provides residential and dementia care, not nursing care.
